Activity accessible through free membership.

Join us on this journey to discover wild and medicinal herbs.

Let’s learn to harvest them with respect and gratitude, to understand their beneficial properties, and to transform them.

  • One flower can be picked, another cannot… Would you like to learn to recognize them?
  • What’s the difference between an infusion, an herbal tea, and a decoction?
  • When should medicinal herbs be harvested according to their balsamic period?

Join us on October 5 and 6, 2024

  • We will learn to recognize, gather, and preserve the herbs that nature offers us.
  • We will learn to become self-sufficient by foraging wild herbs that can be used in the kitchen and transforming them into precious natural remedies for the well-being of body and mind.
  • Together, we will prepare herbal workshops and learn how to use the necessary materials.
  • We will learn to respect nature through gestures that are ancient, yet ever relevant and deeply transformative.
We will gain practical skills to care for ourselves and others in a natural way.

We will learn to appreciate natural resources and live in harmony with the environment.

It will be a wonderful opportunity to share quality time together at Govardhan — a lush, green haven nestled in the hills of Casciana Terme Lari (Pisa) — where the land is cultivated according to the principles of the Ayurvedic tradition.

We will experience nature through a deep sensory journey in direct contact with plants.

We will return home enriched by moments spent in nature, far from noise and pollution, in the company of new friends.

We will bring back not only the preparations and remedies created during our time together, but also a wealth of new knowledge to apply in everyday life..

Each season carries a gift of its own: in autumn the earth teaches us the beauty of transformation and introspection.

It is a time when the cycle of life reveals itself in stillness, following the exuberance of summer.

The trees offer us their last fruits to be transformed, and as their leaves fall, they cover and protect the soil from the cold.

It is a season to be lived fully, reminding us that every phase holds its own unique and precious message.

Theory and Practice

  • We will deepen our knowledge of plants, focusing on selected herbs and exploring their active principles.
  • We will take an active part in gathering wild herbs, following specific ethical guidelines and showing respect for nature.
  • We will learn drying techniques, methods, and tools to best preserve the harvested plants—avoiding yellowing, mold, and ensuring their beneficial properties are maintained.
  • We will transform the plants into natural remedies such as infused oils, tonics, and wild ferments using a single type of plant, following ancient traditions.
  • We will prepare herbal teas and other remedies with the herbs gathered during the course.
  • We will create bay leaf pillows and bundles of other harvested herbs for aromatherapy.
